Todd Brinkman has accepted the challenge of inspiring and empowering the next generation of Main Street leaders to embrace change and lead from the front of technology. His seven-year journey has resulted in a curriculum that will help Main Street continue to lead humanity forward.
Todd Brinkman spent most of his career creating advertising campaigns for TV, Radio, websites, and digital marketing. In July 2016, Todd wanted to take a giant leap forward by moving to Sunny San Diego. His vision of finding a more extensive calling for his life spearheaded this leap.
Todd attended a technology conference in Los Angeles, CA, a few months later. This conference showcased how Lowe's worked with NASA to support astronaut training. The idea blew him away as he viewed Virtual Reality (VR) for the first time. At this moment, he thought of using this same technology to grant hospice patients with last VR requests.
Todd visited a leadership retreat a few short days later. He sat by a pond with two majestic white geese during this retreat. His prayer was, 'Lord, I'm here. Put me to work.' Instantly, he received the download for the 'Brinkman Bridge.' A pioneering process that leverages space and time by helping hospital patients feel connected with their past, present, and perceived future. This 'bridge' is a six-step process that deploys four types of VR Experiences. We will cover the second type in this course.
At first, Todd was so excited that an epic calling landed in the middle of his brain. But he didn't know this was a blueprint for healing his heart. A few weeks later, he realized this was a detailed map for finally overcoming the trauma of his fiance' taking her own life the week before their wedding. For over a decade, Todd tucked away this grief and broken heart. But the 'Brinkman Bridge' was an answer to help others take a VR Trip to feel loved, connected, and empowered.
Todd says he's the person in the story of VR that didn't quit on his assignment. Over the past seven years, his commitment to this blueprint has led to pioneering campaigns and education to move humanity forward.
Todd's calling has netted four books, over two dozen online courses, two workshops, and hundreds of blogs. He's committed to empowering our next generation of local leaders to lead from the front of technology. Moreover, his education teaches us how to use our new tech for good.
Todd's first pilot project is called San Diego 4.0. This groundbreaking project will launch over twenty first-in-the-world campaigns. One of these campaigns will create and deliver hundreds of VR Experiences to isolated seniors, hospital patients, and hospice patients.
